Voluntary Plans are a great way to offer Employee Benefits (and/or fill holes in your current plan(s)) without adding additional costs.  Either employer or employee funded, employees have the option to participate or not (hence Voluntary).

These plans include income/disability protection, cancer insurance, hospital indemnity, telemedicine, and accident plans (among others) and can compliment what you currently have.  For 1099 employees, voluntary plans can be a huge benefit without adding additional costs or excessive administrative headaches.
